Fireworks, Car Shows, Oktoberfest, and so much more!
The lake is stocked with thirty tagged trout including five Grand Prize winners worth $10k each for tournament anglers. Non-grand prize tagged trout winners will be awarded cash prizes, too. Cash prizes will also be awarded in weight class awards with categories for both adults and children.
Join us on the famous Pacific Crest Trail and experience Big Bear Lake this Spring. Choose from three distances: 33 Miles, 15 Miles, or 7 Miles.
Each year the Big Bear Municipal Water District hosts a Carp Round-Up to help improve Lake quality and for some outdoor entertainment. Hunters from around the U.S.A. come to Big Bear Lake for two days of Carp shooting and angling. Food and prizes are an integral part of this yearly event.

Big Bear Trail Riders are proud to bring you the 29th Annual "BIG BEAR RUN" June 24 & 25, 2023. This is a two day Dual Sport motorcycle and Adventure Bike tour of the mountains surrounding Big Bear Lake. Finisher Plaques will be given out at the banquet to those riders who complete our Hard A-loop.
Take your Fourth of July to new heights at the Above the Boom fireworks viewing party, featuring a Scenic Sky Chair ride, a DJ, and panoramic views of the Southern California’s largest fireworks show from the top of Snow Summit. The adventure begins with a ride on our Scenic Sky Chair through the San Bernardino National Forest to the top of the mountain (elev. 8,200 feet) leading up to the grand finale – the Big Bear Fireworks Spectacular.
Each year, Big Bear Lake celebrates this amazing nation with the 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular! Hosted by Visit Big Bear, the fireworks are launched from the Lake making them viewable from nearly every corner of the Valley. The show typically begins between 8:45-9:15 PM. The show is free to enjoy.

Big Bear Mountain Resort will support and participate in the annual “International Ride Mountain Bike Day”. Otherwise known as #RideMTBDay, the movement is composed of decentralized, community-based events that take place around the globe with mountain bike brands, media, professionals, retailers, parks and local riders everywhere each showing their love and support for the sport of mountain biking by holding group rides, fundraisers, races and demos on July 20 – every year.
This July 29, enjoy a FREE self-guided tour of xeriscape gardens throughout Big Bear. Sites will include the DWP demonstration garden on Fox Farm Rd as well as several private residencies.
Head over to Snow Summit for the 2023 Tour de Big Bear/Big Bear Cycling Festival. This includes registration, the cycling expo, start/finish and post event festivities. The entire event will be run from Snow Summit Mountain resort, including the Glow Ride and the Poker Ride.

The Big Bear Fun Run™ is a three day car show held in The Village at Big Bear Lake. The event includes approx. 500 pre-assigned cars, a Saturday afternoon 'Cruise Around the Lake' and a Sunday morning drive through awards presentation. The 2023 event will be our 32st annual show. Over the years the show has earned a very favorable reputation. The Fun Run is always held over the second weekend in August. The streets are generally full of spectators, and a summer shower may develop.
A 1-mile run, uphill, starting at 7000'. The task may be simple but it's far from easy! Challenge yourself to the toughest mile race to exist. The 2023 Conquer the Wall event welcomes competitive runners, kids & families, and general gluttons for punishment. The trek may be daunting but the finish line will taste so sweet!
The Big Bear Valley Astronomical Society will be holding an inaugural Public Star Party Expo on the evening of August 12 at Ski Beach Park at dusk - approximately 7 PM.
This is a free event for the public to enjoy, approximately 10-12 astronomers will be on hand to operate telescopes where attendees can freely mingle and view different astronomical objects.
This event will coincide with the Perseids meteor shower and as a bonus Saturn will be visible on this evening also.
Get ready for three days of can't-miss MTB action during the second annual Gravity Festival, August 18-20, 2023, at Summit Bike Park. The event is free for spectators* and registration is now open** for all race disciplines, including enduro, downhill, and the Strait Acres Slalom Invitational hosted by Kyle and Rachel Strait with $20K prize purse, plus a vendor village in the base area featuring the latest gear and apparel.
